Frank Marshall, the producer behind a lot of blockbuster films from Raiders of the Lost Ark to Sixth Sense in Jurassic World, has created a serious and balanced account, with comments from Eric Clapton, Chris Martin, Justin Timberlake and Noel Gallagher speaking on the dynamic family – band.
Marshall runs through the Bee Gees’ career, with its ups and downs, the extraordinary variety of beards and hairstyles used over the years, their in-studio activity, including the famous “accidental” discovery of Barry’s falsetto skills during the recording of the 1975 album Main Course.
The film’s main theme is the brothers’ fractious relationships between the brothers Robin and Barry with Maurice in the role of mediator and peacemaker, though Robin and Maurice’s contributions are, obviously, constructed via the archive.
